Top Seller Reward

Earn a Tour of Ashdon Farms!

Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois partners with Ashdon Farms to provide delicious nut and candy products to sell to customers during the Fall Product Program. They have two factories located in Wisconsin.

For the 2024 Fall Product Program, Ashdon Farms is offering two spots for a tour of BOTH of their factories! One spot is for the top selling Girl Scout in our council. We will do a drawing for the other spot from Gril Scouts who have 10 or more online orders.

The Girl Scouts who earn this tour will each be able to bring ONE chaperone. The family is responsible for travel to and from the factories and other activities.

Once the winners are determined, a member of the GSEIWI Product Program Team will reach out to discuss next steps. There is not a set date yet for this trip – it will take place during May or June 2025. Ashdon Farms representatives will work together with the Girl Scouts and their chaperones to determine a date that will work best for everyone.

Troop Fall Product Program Finances

Identifying Counterfeit Money

Hold the bill up to the light and look for:

If You Receive Counterfeit Money

If you suspect counterfeit money, do not put yourself or girls in danger. Do not attempt to return the bill(s) to the passer and contact your bank and local authorities.

Spoiler Alert: Counterfeit pens are unreliable

These highly popular pens used to detect counterfeit bills are no longer reliable indicators of whether a bill is counterfeit. An alternate option is to use ultraviolet light, but these also come with limitations because they are difficult to use outside. More information on how to spot counterfeit money can be found at secretservice.gov/data/KnowYourMoney.pdf.

Problem Collection Forms

In the event that a parent does not turn in their Fall Product Program money by the due date, complete a Problem Collection Form (PCF). As the Troop Product Manager, you are required to complete this form for any outstanding balance - no matter who the parent or the money owed.

Do not pay the past due amount with troop proceeds.

As soon as the money is turned in, council will end the problem collection process and there will be no further action. The form must be turned in to Finance by November 26, 2024.

Returned Checks

Checks returned against your troop are the responsibility of the council. If you get a returned check, follow the instructions on the Returned Check Form.

Third-Party Payment Processing

We have guidelines and policies in place for troops bank accounts and the use of Third-Party Service Organizations (TSO) such as Pay Pal, Venmo, Square (etc.) for volunteers.

Ways to participate

Your Troop can decide to participate in one or more ways that don’t overlap with other activities at school. For an easy participation option that involves no physical money collection, your Troop can even participate in online sales only.

Shipped Online Orders
Girls create their own online store that offers magazines and nut and candy items online to help girls reach friends and family who live at a distance.

Girl Delivery Online Orders
Girls create their own online store that offers magazines and nut and candy items online. Customers shop from the very same online store, but certain nut and candy items are able to be delivered by the girl!

In-Person Orders
Girls visit potential customers to collect orders for nuts and candy products. Payment is not expected until delivery. Customers also have the option of purchasing nut items to be donated to regional military through our Care to Share program.

Safety Guidelines
Girls can market Fall Product items by sending emails to friends and family as long as they use:

Girls who are 13 years and older may use social networking sites that are closed communities, such as Facebook, to market Fall Product to friends and family.

Girls writing notes for recipients of product emails or announcements online should sign with their first names and Troop number only.

Sales may not be transacted online. For example, through a site that has an electronic shopping cart, online auction sites, or public sale sites such as eBay and Craigslist. The only exception to this is GSUSA-approved magazine vendor programs provide to girls.

Girl Scouts should sign the GSUSA Online Safety Pledge.
